Dear Dr. Oudhia

The problem of parthenium is also well witnessed in North East India in general and Assam in particular. We, at AICRP on weed control Jorhat centre in Assam also working on this aspect for management of this dreaded weed. In this context, I would like to request you kindly to enlighten me how I can be a member of your society. Further, I shall be pleased to receive informations in
this aspect.

With kind regards,

I was surfing the web for information on parthenium and came upon your site. I am an American living in India for the last 12 years and a follower of Avatar Meher Baba. I have been involved in an extensive Congress Grass eradication program this year and we have up rooted over 30,000 kg. by hand in our surrounding area. A friend showed me an article from the Lokmat Times, Aurangabad, dated 27,8,04, writing about an insect, Zygopram Bacular Toe, which they say was imported from Mexico and developed in Bangalore. They report this insect is available from the Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, for rs. 1 each. Supposedly this insect eats only parthenium. Do you know anything about this? I cannot find any reference on the Web.

Thanks,

James Cox
