Dear Mr Oudhia,
thank you for your response. I do hope u are better now i hope i have not inconvenienced u too much during ur sickness. As per your advice i have written to Dr Bapat. However i could not find the address of the scientists(from AIIMS) either in the directory or the site. Can u please  help me find the same. Also one more question Are u aware of any place in India(especially Northern India) which is completely free of cong grass. I had heard that it is lesser in the hillīs I am especially interested to know about Punjab & Himachal. Your site does mention some references as:

  1. Aneja, K.R.; S. R. Dhawan and A.B. Sharma (1991). Deadly weed - Parthenium hysterophorus Linn. and its distribution. Indian J.Weed Sce. 23: 14-16.

  2. Angiras, N.N. and Saini, J.P. (1998). Distribution, menance and management of Parthenium hysterophorus L. in  Himachal Pradesh. In:Proc. First International Conference on Parthenium Management,    University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, 6-8 Oct., 1997. 2 :13-15.

  3. But since it is very difficult for me to lay my hands on these papers and also the fact that my knowledge in this field is rather inadequate  i request you if u can provide some insight into this issue. I realise that u might be getting a lot of mail from people like me and replying them all will be quite a substantial burden on u i really do appreciate the trouble u r taking for all of us.

    with warm regards
    Ravinder Dhami.

dear sir
i had sent u the following mail about 10 days ago.i havīnt yet got any response. it might be possible that u may have not recieved it so i am sending it again.
Regards

Dear sir
at the outset let me congratulate you for making this excellent site on Congress Grass. I am Lt Ravinder Dhami(Indian Navy) from Jalandhar City, my father Col GS Dhami(Retd) has been suffering from skin allergy from this weed for the past 9 years. He is virtually confined to the house ,especially after leading an active life in the army for 30 years this condition can be very traumatic. I had been trying to gather information about this weed for quite some time but the information was at best sketchy. Now thanx to ur site i finally have some facts and the comforting thought that we are not alone in the fight against this menace. We have been manually uprooting this weed for the past many years but it was simply not working. I have a few questions which i hope you will be kind enough to answer

  1. What is the best way of eradicating this weed?

  2. Where can I get seeds for the CS plant and which is the best site of sowing this plant considering a residential ares with vacant site having C grass(as is found in town extensions)
  3. Can I get the Sodium 2,4-D in a chemical shop?Is it sold under a brand name , if so which?
  4. Your site reports about a drug named AZATHIOPERINE developed by Dr. K. K. Verma, Deparment of Dermatology and Venerology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India , with his co-workers  Dr.J.S.Pasricha and Dr.Y.Manchanda for treatment of allergy caused by obnoxious weed. Can you please give me contact address/ Email add of the doctor?. Any cure at this stage would be godsent.

Any help from you would bring us much needed relief from this scrouge and help lessen the 10 years of trauma we have been through.

    With warm regards
    Lt Ravinder Dhami
