PARTHENIUM FREE RAIPUR CITY : A Campaign started from 13 April, 2004.

A campaign to make the Raipur city,the capital of Chhattisgarh State,India, free from obnoxious weed Gajar Ghas (Parthenium hysterophorus) ,has been statred from 13th April,2004 under the banner of Society for Parthenium Management(SOPAM) and International Parthenium Research News Group (IPRNG).

The purpose of this campaign is to aware the common people about identification,harms and management of Parthenium. The convenor of SOPAM ,well known Agriculture scientist Pankaj Oudhia informed that with the help of twenty percent salt solution the members are managing this weed by giving volunteer services three hours daily.This campaign is getting overwhelming responses from common people.
