Indian Scientists Discover A New Drug For Allergy
Caused By Parthenium Dr. K. K. Verma, Deparment of Dermatology and Venerology,All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS),New Delhi,India ,with his co-workers Dr.J.S.Pasricha and Dr.Y.Manchanda has discovered a drug named AZATHIOPERINE for the treatment of allergy caused by obnoxious weed Parthenium.AZATHIOPERINE is also used as anti-cancer drug.This discovery has given a great relief to the patients suffering from allergy caused by Parthenium. The Parthenium allergy is medically known as Air -borne Contact Dermatitis(ABCD). According to these scientists ,two milligrams tablets of this useful drug daily along with booster dose of 300 mg. once every 30 days can cure Parthenium allergy completely.They also add that treatment should be continued for three years to avoid reattack.
