Abstract
Metribuzin at 1000 and 1500 g ha-1 gave 100% control of flowered as well as non-flowered Parthenium plants, followed by 50-60% with glyphosate at 1000 and 1500 g ha-1. Non flowered (vegetatively active growing) plants were comparatively more sensitive to these herbicides than the flowered plants. 2,4-D ethyl ester (EE) at 100 g ha-1 resulted in 40% more mortality of non-flowered Parthenium plants than 2, 4-D Na salt, Chlorimuron-ethyl was inferior to other herbicide treatments in reducing growth of Parthenium.
