Dear Dr Oudhia
I hope you will be fine and enjoying good health.

First of all I am extremely thankful to you because you never disappoint me and always help me. As I told you earlier that I am a M.Phil research scholar and working on chemical control and phytosociology of parthenium.

Sir I want to get a copy of Proc. First International Conference on Parthenium Management, University of Agricultural Science, Dharwad, 6-8 Oct., 1997.I think this literature will be extremely helpful in my research work. Can you please let me know that how can I get this copy. Can you also send me any
paper related to chemical control and phytosociology of parthenium other than available on your parthenium web?

With best wishes.

My address is:

Dear Sir/Madam

We have obtained your email address at http://www.iprng.org/IPRNG-Main.htm

As we are in Australia, we tried to contact Dr. Dearden via email and telephone, but no luck so far (the telephone line is disconnected and email came back as undeliverable). Would you be kind enough to advise his contact details, if you have any updated information.

Much appreciated.

Regards

Dear Dr. Dearden
Barclay Mowlem Construction Limited is one of Australia's major materials handling, civil, marine, rail and building construction companies.

We have tried to call your office on (07) 4984 3266 as suggested in the Department of Natural Resources and Mines website, however, the line was disconnected. We would very much appreciate if you could respond to our query by return.

We are currently bidding for a coal handling plant development project in Rolleston, and wish to obtain some information on Parthenium weed in that area. Is there any local infestation? Could you please explain the current
situation of the weed in the area. If there is no local infestation, what sort of biocontrol agents are available and what is their cost roughly?

We look forward to receiving your reply soon.
Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Regards
Toni Umakoshi

Dear Mr. Pankaj

It was nice to learn about Parthenium and lot of people and groups are working on this weed. During last May, we identified that in most of the urban centers in Orissa Parthenium is present in abundance. We had only a sketchy idea about Parthenium. We talked to local scientists and leant that the situation is alarming. We came out with an article in our forestry news letter " Aama Jangala Aamara" - meaning Our Forest is Ours. We have appealed our readers to weed out Parthenium where ever they find it along with an warning that no effort should me made to weed it out without enough precautions if it already has flowered. We will continued our campaign to eradicate Parthenium in the following years. We will be very glad to receive information on Parthenium, its bad impact and efforts and success stories in other areas to educate our readers. We are seeking your cooperation to help us in our efforts.

I take this opportunity to introduce RCDC. Regional Centre for Development Cooperation - RCDC is a support service organisation working on natural resources management by local communities. We have been working with the Communities protecting forest on their own. Information collection and dissemination is one of the major activities of RCDC. It brings our one forestry Update that translates the government orders on forest and NTFP management. We bring our Aama Jangala Aamara - a publication that provides a space for all those who have a stake in forestry to discuss and debate the issues pertaining to forests. Apart from this we also publich one journal 'Community Forestry" that discussed forestry related issues in the country.

Hope this is enough for a first communication. We are expecting response from you.
